PM Modi leaves for Guyana after concluding G20 Summit in Brazil | World News
Prime Minister Narendra Modi concluded his Brazil trip after attending the G20 Summit in Rio de Janeiro and emplaned for Guyana on the last leg of his three-nation tour.
PM Modi met global leaders including US President Joe Biden, French President Emmanuel Macron and UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer at the G20 Summit. PM Modi arrived at the summit after concluding his “productive” visit to Nigeria, where he held bilateral talks with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and was also conferred with Nigeria’s second-highest national award.
“Honoured to be conferred with the ‘Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger’ Award by Nigeria. I accept it with great humility and dedicate it to the 140-crore people of India and the friendship of India and Nigeria,” PM Modi said after receiving the award from the Nigerian president.

In Brazil, PM Modi was welcomed by the Indian community with Sanskrit chants and cultural performances. He also briefly interacted with US President Joe Biden on the sidelines of the G20 Summit, which was his first interaction with the president post the results of the 2024 US Presidential elections, which Republican Donald Trump has won.
The Ministry of External Affairs, announcing the departure of PM Modi from Brazil posted on X, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi emplanes for Guyana, the last leg of his three-nation visit, after a constructive and fruitful G20 Summit in Rio de Janeiro.”
In his address at the G20 Summit, PM Modi remembered the theme of the summit when it took place in India last year and said that the theme of “One Earth, One Family, One Future” in September 2023 still remains relevant in the current summit in Brazil.
PM Modi also said that the G20 must focus on the countries of the Global South as they are most adversely impacted by the food, fuel and fertilizer crisis caused by global conflicts.
