On the whole, I Want To Talk will find appreciation among only a very thin section of the audience and hence its commercial prospects are extremely weak.

‘I Want To Talk’ left me taking note of Arjun’s amazing grit and gumption, and perseverance in the face of overwhelming odds. But it should have also made me feel more: where are the tears when you need them?

In book terms, ‘I want to talk’ may not be a page-turner but it’s not a sob story either. It reminds you that you are way more stronger than you think you are.

I Want To Talk might not appeal to massy cinema lovers. It is a slow, immersive watch that needs time and attention. A deep, yet not melancholic, representation of motivation, I Want To Talk will have a lasting impact due to the performances.

I Want To Talk shows more and talks less and while it works for its own theme, it may appear extremely slow for some. The arc of the narrative is also a straight one with no room for rising or falling action. However, it deserves a watch for Abhishek and his compelling act, making Arjun one of his career’s best performances. I Want To Talk may not be as soulful and endearing as Piku or have the nuance and heartbreaking depth of October but it – in its own way – celebrates the fragility of human life and the complexity of human relationships.

He refuses to give easy answers and access, and yet succeeds in getting a reaction out of you. And those montages and moments filed with silences, he does that really well, especially here, in a film titled I Want To Talk. Irony number three.
