Delhi air worst in India today, Lucknow in 2nd spot; Guwahati least polluted city
As winter tightens its grip, North India is reeling under the worsening air pollution crisis, with multiple cities recording air quality in the “poor” and “severe” categories. The air quality index in Delhi continued to deteriorate as it hit 422 on Wednesday morning.
As of Wednesday morning, six major cities recorded “poor” air quality, four fell into the “moderate” category, four were rated “satisfactory,” and only one in the “Good” category, according to data from the Central Pollution Control Board.
Delhi recorded the highest pollution levels in the country today, followed by Lucknow and Patna with AQI readings of 299 and 265, both categorised as “poor.”
Guwahati and Thiruvananthapuram had the lowest pollution levels, with AQI readings of 43 and 66, at 6 am.
