Dhanush And Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth Finalise Divorce Amid The Former’s Legal Battle With Nayanthara
South superstar, Rajnikanth’s daughter, Aishwaryaa Rajnikanth and Dhanush were once hailed as the ‘IT’ couple of Tollywood. They were once one of the most loved couples in the South Indian film industry. However, destiny had other plans, as Dhanush and Aishwaryaa made the difficult decision to end their marriage in 2022. For the unversed, the duo tied the knot in 2004, and they are blessed with two kids, Yatra and Linga.
By the end of 2023, rumours were rife that Dhanush and Aishwaryaa were working on their differences and planning to reconcile for the sake of their children. The duo remained quiet about their divorce proceedings for a year, but now they have finally made their final decision.
Dhanush and Aishwaryaa are not going to reconcile, contrary to the rumours
As per a report from the Hindustan Times, on November 21, 2024, both Dhanush and Aishwaryaa filed for the final sheet of their divorce documents. There have been three hearings of the case, but both the parties faked to appear for the same but now lawyers from both sides have submitted the final reports. The duo is most likely to get divorced by November 27, 2024.
On January 17, 2022, Dhanush shared the news of their separation, marking the end of an emotional 18-year journey. His statement, a poignant reflection on their evolution from friends to a couple, parents, and well-wishers, resonated with many. Dhanush’s announcement read as:
“18 years of togetherness as friends, couple, as parents and well-wishers to each other. The journey has been of growth, understanding, adjusting and adapting… Today we stand at a place where our paths separate… Aishwaryaa and I have decided to part ways as a couple and take time to understand us as individuals for the better. Please do Respect our decision and give us the needed privacy to deal with this.”
Dhanush and Nayanthara’s legal fiasco
More recently, Dhanush found himself in the midst of a heated controversy when Nayanthara, a fellow actor, penned a blistering open letter. In it, she accused him of withholding BTS footage from their movie, Naanum Rowdy Dhaan. She also took aim at him for a legal notice demanding Rs. 10 crore in damages for a mere three-second behind-the-scenes clip from the film.
